new canopied house

“The New Arcaded House” is a project inspired by the traditional architecture of the Żuławy Gdańskie region, where contemporary aesthetics meet the functionality of historical design. The house’s interiors are a delicate play of contrasts, far from a simple division between black and white.

Charred wood reveals the depth of its brown tones, while white bricks come to life with warm, sandy hues. Bright, natural wood used in built-ins adds a sense of coziness, creating a harmonious space that reflects the minimalist japandi style. The building’s simple and functional form echoes the traditional arcaded houses that have shaped the region’s landscape for centuries.

The house, with a usable floor area of approximately 230 m², is designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. The arcade—a characteristic feature of regional architecture—not only lends the building a sense of lightness but also provides a natural transition between interior and exterior spaces, offering protection from wind and rain.
